Daisy Award Nominations
The DAISY (Diseases Attacking the Immune System) Award® is an international
recognition program that honors and celebrates Extraordinary Nurses for their
super-human work as they work with patients and families every day. Nurses are
honored for their extraordinary acts of compassion at a ceremony that is held
each quarter. Patients and their families nominate nurses for the award and are
invited to attend the ceremony if the nurse they nominate wins. Please take the
time to share your story of what your nurse has meant to you, and your nurse
may be selected to receive this meaningful recognition.
DAISY Award honorees personify AllianceHealth Ponca City's commitment to
excellence in patient care. These nurses consistently demonstrate excellence
through their clinical expertise and extraordinary compassionate care. They are
recognized as outstanding role models in our nursing community.
The DAISY Foundation was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes after he
died from complications of the autoimmune disease ITP in 1999. During his
hospitalization, they deeply appreciated the care and compassion shown to
Patrick and his entire family. When he died, they felt compelled to say “thank you”
to nurses in a very public way.
We encourage you to submit your nomination by completing the submission form
below. Please describe in detail a specific situation or story that demonstrates
how this nurse made a meaningful difference in your experience.
